「你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。」﹙太7：7﹚


相信這句經文對於我們基督徒來說，並不是一段陌生的。當初，我聽到這段經文時，心裡就有一種「上帝甚麼都會給我，而且是最好的」想法。因為經文往下讀的時候，耶穌說天父一定會把很好的給求他的人。因此，這段經文會變成「臨時抱耶穌腳」的作用，有什麼事一求天父，祂就一定會我成就！

可是，直到最近的一、兩年，我才對這段經文有另一番的體會。在我畢業之後，父母送了一本King James Version的聖經給我，因為我一直都很想要一本了！在聖經的封面裡，父母都寫了一些祝福和勉勵的說話，但是當中我父親的說話給了我很深刻的印象。他就是用了這段經文去勉勵我，鼓勵我盡心追求聖經的真理，上帝的話語，他說因為我們凡祈求的，就必得著；尋找的，一定會尋見；叩門的，就給我們開門。

我以往從來沒有試過用這一個角度去了解這段經文，更加沒想到這段經文可以有這樣深層的意思。不過，當我開始學習準備查經班的時候，我就可以完全體會這段經文的意義了！因為有很多的經文的意義或是背景，我以前都是一知半解，甚至因懶惰，怕麻煩而未曾深究。但是當我學習深入和仔細去讀，以及加上一些合適的參考書配合的時候，很多不明白的道理，都漸漸的有新的了解，直到現在！

因此，我也想藉此經文去鼓勵大家，不要怕聖經，不要覺得它很難讀，很難了解。只要靠著上帝而來的智慧，祂一定會讓我們明白的！

(Theme: Who’s sitting on your chair now?)

Just a small recap of the background, with Saul having lead Israel into several victorious battles, he is starting to get out of favour of the Lord and this chapter is about how the Lord rejects him as King.

I find this story pretty personal as it describes the process where we follow the Lord wholeheartedly initially and gradually start to wander off. We all like to make decisions for our own selves; to plan ahead what we think is best, before we even remember to ‘consult’ the Lord. Sometimes we forget, sometimes distracted, sometimes we give excuses, sometimes we listen to advice of others, and sometimes we even deliberately choose to go the other way…(7,15,20,24) Our minds are doing so good in deceiving ourselves that we often believe in our own excuses, believing that we are acting righteously.

What I often do is try to interpret biblical teachings in slightly deviated or generalised meanings, so as to place myself in the grey areas. This is actually a serious ‘offence’ to the Lord – the lack of faith in Him. Rationally we know that God is offering the best path for us, but subconsciously we do not believe that, we are still grasping tight to our own decisions, thinking it the best. Our faith in Him has been overpowered in a way that we are putting ourselves as our own Lord. This is a life-long struggle we need to face as Christians, and we need constant, if not always, reminding.
